The Nigerian army killed a large number of bandits who were on their way to attack Bukkuyum and Gummi.
The bandits' mission to attack a community in Zamfara was cut short by brave Nigerian Army men and women.
Bukkuyum and Gummi Axis were attacked by bandits who wanted to pressure the communities to allow their patrons to continue mining for gold and other mineral resources in the area.
Instead of negotiating with the communities, the operators of some of these mines prefer to hire the services of bandits to kill and evict the communities. Most of these mining sites are owned by some powerful Nigerians and foreigners.
The day Nigeria decides to regulate the mining industry like it regulates crude oil, the banditry will end. Because mine owners plays an important role and finance banditry in Zamfara and Katsina.
