Poland Detects Leak On Druzhba Pipeline Carrying Russian oil to Europe

Operator says ’causes of the incident are not known yet, Is likely to be another sabotage

The Polish pipeline operator PERN detected a leak past due on Tuesday nighttime in a single Druzhba pipeline which consists of oil from Russia to Europe, the organisation stated in a press announcement.

"At the moment, the reasons of the incident aren't known — the pumping in the broken line turned into without delay grew to become off. The different line of the [Druzhba] oil pipeline is running with out changes," the announcement reads.

The organisation stated the leak turned into positioned a few 70 kilometers from the western metropolis of Płock  and turned into on the primary course transporting crude oil to Germany. It brought that different infrastructure keeps to operate.

Polish media stated that approximately 1,000 rectangular meters of a cornfield had been polluted with the oil spill.
