Fully fit Germany international Jamal Musiala, who fans are hoping will be just as effective at the World Cup later this month, showed superb composure as he collected the ball in the  sixth minute, dodging an opponent and using the left foot completed. It was the 19-year-old's ninth league goal this season as Bayern took on Werder for a  record 111th Bundesliga run.

They went on to score three goals in six dizzying minutes to end the game. Gnabry fired a superb shot in the 22nd minute before his Germany international Leon Goretzka repeated it four minutes later.

A perfect assist from Leroy Sane as Werder failed to stop Bayern runs in the middle. Sane  should have scored himself early in the second half but he hit the post with goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka to win as Bayern gradually relaxed.

Gnabry scored his hat-trick in the 82nd after passing four Werder players before young France  international Mathys Tel scored a half-dozen goals for Bayern with a solo  two minutes later.
