Erdogan Confirms Grain Deal Has Been Extended By Another 120 Days.

 The Black Sea Corridor Agreement is reportedly set to be extended from November 19, 2022. 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Thursday that the grain deal was signed in Istanbul in July. it would be extended by 120 days. 

Following the decision of the United Nations, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine, the  Black Sea Corridor Agreement will be extended by 120 days from November 19, 2022," the Turkish leader wrote on Twitter . 

Erdogan thanked UN chief Antonio Guterres, the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky for their efforts to expand the initiative.

"My congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this process," he said. According to Erdogan, more than 11 million  tons of agricultural products have been exported through the maritime humanitarian corridor since the initiative was launched. 

The implementation of the agreement has shown how important and useful it is for ensuring world food security," stressed the Turkish President. Agreements on  food exports from Ukraine were concluded on July 22 for a period of 120, days. 

One Agreements on grain exports from the Kyiv-controlled ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny are valid until November 19, while the  Joint Coordination Center (JCC) set up by Russia, the United Nations, Ukraine and Turkey and based in Istanbul is  to conduct  inspections Ships to prevent arms smuggling or provocation.

The latter was signed by Russia, Turkey and the UN and separately by Ukraine, Turkey and the UN. 

In addition, Russia and the UN signed a memorandum in which the international organization undertakes to lift restrictions on the export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to world markets.
