Former Nigerian President GoodLuck Jonathan distances himself from PDP Crisis
The statement said, in part, "Our attention has been drawn to media and social media reports identifying the name of former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to current troubles in the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), with a false claim that the offended PDP governors are showing their allegiance to him.” We would have ignored the strange story as it is obviously unfounded.

Former Nigerian President  Good Luck Jonathan distances himself from five PDPA governors  party would be able to solve their internal crisis. Responding to fake news that offended PDP governors were showing their allegiance to him, Jonathan said he had meritoriously served this country  at  the state and federal levels in.  And after being out of office for almost eight years and Nigerians trusting him and loving him for who he is, during his tenure he had no enemies to fight and he still has no enemies to fight had to fight now that he's gone private.

The former president made the announcement through his special adviser Ikechukwu Eze in a press release on Friday.

However, we offer this clarification because we have been contacted by many Nigerians  concerned that
such an invention with a vague and suspicious attribution might receive undeserved attention on the front page of some national dailies. Nor do we ignore the fact that this election season, strange stories are often invented, disseminated, and used as weapons to defame others or to provide cheap political benefits to citizens.

"First of all, we would like to  point out that when there is a crisis in a political party like the PDP and a former president who served under the party's platform is called  to step in, it is not inappropriate. In this case, we initially saw nothing wrong in the headlines of some newspapers, suggesting that the former president was  persuaded to help solve the problems in the party.

The antics of the story's sponsors  and mislead the unsuspecting populace. "We have been struck by provocative and insulting statements in separate but similar versions of the story across different media outlets, be it the claim that "everything we see in the PDP  is orchestrated for President Jonathan" or that "he (Jonathan ) is encouraging to urge Governors Nyesom Wike, Makinde, Ikpeazu, Ugwuanyi and Ortom to behave as they do", knowing that "these five governors of are fighting for their cause.

We believe that such misleading statements cannot come from the camps of those who really want the best for the party.

It simply shows that the so-called "sources" of history are not open to the peace and unity they claim to seek in the PDP. How could anyone come back in 2022 to accuse Jonathan of harboring a grudge against the PDP? when the former president vigorously promoted the party and its presidential nominee in the 2019 election?

Those who imply that Dr. Jonathan is not happy with PDP presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar because of the roles he played before the 2015 election, forgetting that the former president actively promoted Atiku in 2019 and participated in his flag-raising campaigns in Sokoto and later participating in the campaigns in some states like Rivers and Bayelsa. "The fact that Dr.

Jonathan distinguished himself as a model politician who throughout his political career abhorred treason and pettiness and engaged in politics without bitterness, which he need not refute. Unlike many of his critics, the former president, who is no longer in office, has reached a higher level of statesmanship and is faithful to causes that promote peace, love, unity and progress throughout the West African sub-region.

Jonathan wishes that the PDP can resolve its internal crisis of, unite all members and do well in the upcoming 2023 elections Party continues to grapple with confusion, misinformation and overt tendencies that deny values dear to loyal party members.

“Former President Jonathan has meritoriously served this country  at both the state and federal levels. He has  been out of office for almost eight years and Nigerians  trust and love him for who he is. During his tenure, he had no enemies to fight. He still has no enemies to fight now that he's become a private.”
