Evans Chebet, who won in Boston, won two of them, as did Eliud Kipchoge, who won in Tokyo (March 6) and Berlin (September 25,). Amos Kipruto in London (October 2) and Benson Kipruto in Chicago (October 9) complete an outstanding record.

Kenyan marathoner Evans Chebet won the grand prize at the New York City Marathon on Sunday.

Shura Kitata of Ethiopia took second place, with Dutchman Abdi Nageeye completing the top 3. Victory at the legendary event in New York saw Chebet confirm the first Grand Slam in a nation's history  on the world stage: the Kenyans have won all six events of the program in 2022.

Previously, it was Sharon Lokedi, also of Kenya, who caused the women's first sensation of the day when she won her first distance race in 2 hours, 23 minutes and 23 seconds.

At 28, he set the fastest time at the finish line in Central Park ahead of Israel's Lonah Chemtai Salpeter. Lokedi succeeds his compatriot Peres Jepchirchir, gold medalist at the Tokyo 2021  Olympic Games.
