The opposition  manifesto in the previous 14th general election (GE14) was full of empty promises that failed many people, incumbent Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on Thursday (20 October). He said young people in particular were  among those misled by the promises of Pakatan Harapan's (PH) manifesto for GE14 in 2018. “It differs (from ours) because in GE14 young people were misled the most  with a manifesto of empty promises. The opposition failed to abolish PTPTN 

 (loans for college students), failed to create job opportunities and left tens of thousands of young people unemployed,” Ismail Sabri said in a Facebook post describing the 2023 budget, which his then Government tabled in Parliament on October 7th.

Although Parliament was dissolved before the budget was debated and approved, Mr Ismail Sabri  said  the budget would be presented again before the end of this year if his government is re-elected in the next 15 years (GE15 is due on June 19).  Can' is based on the fact that we will do whatever it takes to help the people... We have to win because we want to make a difference this country. The problems people are facing, such as the high prices of basic foodstuffs such as eggs, chicken and vegetables, are overwhelming the population.

” During the event, Mr Anwar was announced as the coalition's prime ministerial candidate for the upcoming elections. Earlier Thursday, the Electoral Commission (EC) announced that election day for GE15 would be November 19. Nomination day will be November 5th, while early voting is scheduled for November 15th. More than 21 million people will be eligible to cast their ballots during the election at an estimated  cost of RM1.00.
