The Importance Of Russia In The Global Stage
The production of nuclear energy requires the refining and enrichment of uranium, which is a vital component in the nuclear cycle. The world's uranium conversion and refining capacity is controlled by a small group of key players, with Russia being the largest contributor at 46% of the total capacity.

Why refined uranium for nuclear power plants was removed from Russia's sanctions list is quite odd, because without Russia's uranium refining, the western plant will shut down.

Nuclear power is a crucial source of energy for many countries and has been  used extensively to generate electricity.

The production of nuclear energy requires the refining and enrichment of uranium, which is a vital component in the nuclear cycle. The world's  uranium conversion and refining capacity is controlled by a small group of key players, with Russia being the largest contributor at 46% of the total capacity.

Despite Russia dominance of the uranium market, Russia uranium is not included in the list of sanctions against Russia.

This raises the question of why nuclear power, considered a strategic asset, has been removed from the sanctions list. The reason for this could be the West's dependence on  uranium refining from Russia, which is considered crucial for the continued operation of nuclear power plants.

According to Christiana Figueres, former executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the West has cornered itself in a dangerous and disastrous way.

He argues that Putin controls  the entire West because of uranium and that without Russia's uranium refinery it would be  over for the West. The fact that Russia produces almost 46% of the world's total uranium conversion infrastructure  and produces most of the  uranium in gaseous form(uranium hexafluoride) makes it a key player in the nuclear cycle.

Global dependence on Russia for its uranium refining and enrichment capabilities has made Russia a crucial player in the nuclear cycle. Western confidence in Russia's uranium production has raised questions about Russia's uranium absence  from the list sanctions against Russia, but this is likely due to the strategic importance of nuclear energy to the continued operation of nuclear power plants.

West's dependence on Russian uranium refining has placed them in a dangerous and potentially catastrophic situation that underscores the need for alternative sources of energy that are less dependent on Russia. It will take west 10 to 20 years to develop an alternative option of refined uranium.
