The Brazil national soccer team defeated Switzerland 1-0 in the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Monday.

Brazil currently lead their Group G with six points, followed by Switzerland (3 points), Cameroon and Serbia with one point each.

The match between the national teams between  Brazil and Switzerland was played in front of more than 44,000 spectators at  Stadium 974 in the city of Doha. 

The only goal of the game between Brazil and Switzerland was scored by Brazilian defensive midfielder Casemiro in the 83rd minute of the game, qualifying his team for the round of  16.

The Brazilian team  currently leads their Group G with six points, followed by Switzerland (3 points), Cameroon and Serbia with one point each. 

FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar is hosting the  FIFA World Cup 2022 from 20 November to 18 December in eight stadiums in five Persian Gulf cities across the  country, specifically Doha, Lusail, Al Wakrah, Al Khor and Al Rayyan. 

The eight host stadiums are: Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Lusail Iconic Stadium, 974 Stadium, Education City Stadium and Al Janoub Stadium. The coveted World Cup trophy goes to one of 32 teams divided into eight groups.

Group stage matches will take place between November 20th and December 2nd at numerous arenas in Qatar, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the playoffs. Qatar won the right to host matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on December 2, 2010. 

The championship began last Sunday with a spectacular ceremony followed by the  opening game between hosts Qatar and Ecuador, which ended 2-0 in favor of Ecuador. It would be played in November and December  2022, with the last game scheduled for December 18, 2022, which coincides with Qatar's National Day. 

The goal was basically to run the tournament for 28 days.

The last FIFA World Cup was hosted by Russia in 2018. The championship was held in 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities, namely  Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don and Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Samara. 

On 15 July  2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin handed over the baton of the host country of the FIFA World Cup to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani Gianni Infantino, at an official ceremony in the Kremlin in the presence of the FIFA  President .
