Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos, always had the support of Lagos State, which historically was his stronghold. However, Obi's campaign promises resonated with Lagos residents, who have grown weary of Tinubu's long-standing power grab and the resulting corruption and mismanagement.

The Nigeria presidential election in Lagos State was won by Labor Party (LP) candidate  Peter Obi after defeating  former governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu. The results were announced after votes from the state's 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) were tallied. The people of Lagos, tired of Tinubu's exploitation of Lagos, decided to vote against him, thus paving the way for Obi's victory.

Obi's campaign focused on improving the welfare of  citizens and providing a better standard of living for all. He promised to invest in infrastructure, education and healthcare, among other things, to improve the quality of life for Lagos residents. His campaign focused on putting  people first and creating an inclusive government that caters to the needs of all residents of Lagos and Nigeria in general, regardless of their socioeconomic status. 

Peter Obi's victory marks a significant milestone in Nigerian politics, particularly in Lagos State.It shows that  people are fed up with the status quo and are willing to vote for change. The people of Lagos have sent a clear message that they want a leader who puts their needs first and is committed to their well-being. 

Atiku Abubakar, the  People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, came in third with 75,750 votes. The PDP is struggling to regain political relevance in Lagos State and Nigeria, and the election results show  they still have  work to do. , Overall, Tinubu received 572,606 votes while Obi received 582,454 votes, winning the election by a margin of 9,848 votes.

Peter Obi's victory  in Lagos State is a major step forward for the Labor Party and  shows that its message of change and progress is resonating with the Nigerian people who are willing to vote for a leader who puts their needs first. The election results show that the people of Lagos are fed up with the status quo and are looking for a new era of government that puts the people first. Obi's victory is a major milestone in Nigerian politics and a positive step towards building a better future for all Lagos people.
