PRC Officials Have Warned US Officials Not To  Interfere In PRC Relations With India
During its confrontation with India along the Line of Current Control (LAC), Chinese officials have tried to downplay the seriousness of the crisis, stressing Beijing's intention to maintain border stability in and prevent the standoff from damaging other areas of its bilateral relationship with India, the Pentagon said in a report Tuesday

The Galwan Valley incident in 2020 was the deadliest clash between the two nations in the past 46 years, according to the report. China has warned US officials not to interfere in its relations with India, the Pentagon  said in a report to Congress. 

During its confrontation with India along the Line of Current Control (LAC), Chinese officials have tried to downplay the seriousness of the crisis, stressing Beijing's intention to maintain border stability in and prevent the standoff from damaging other areas of its bilateral relationship with India, the Pentagon said in a report Tuesday. 

The People's Republic of China (PRC) is trying to prevent border tensions from leading to India becoming more closely associated with the United States. 

PRC officials have warned US officials not to  interfere in PRC relations with India," the Pentagon said in its latest report to  Congress on China's military buildup. 

On a stretch of the China-India border, the Pentagon said throughout 2021 the PLA maintained deployments of forces and continuous construction of infrastructure across LAC. 

Negotiations made minimal progress as both sides were reluctant to lose perceived advantages at the border, he said. As of May 2020, 

Chinese and Indian  forces were involved in clashes involving stones, batons and truncheons wrapped in barbed wire at various locations across LAC, sparking the build-up of forces on both sides of the border.

"Each country demanded the withdrawal of the other's forces and a return to pre-confrontation conditions, but neither China nor India accepted those conditions," he said. as invading PRC territory while India accused China of launching aggressive incursions into India's territory," it added. 

According to the report, the  incident was the deadliest confrontation between the two nations in the past 46 years. On June 15 In 2020, violent clashes between patrols erupted in the Galwan Valley, killing about twenty Indian soldiers and four PLA soldiers, according to PRC officials, it said.
