DES MOINES, Iowa - No one won an estimated $700 million Powerball jackpot Wednesday night, meaning the grand prize will grow to an estimated $800 million by the next draw. The numbers drawn were: 19-36-37-46-56 -24 Since August 3rd, no one has matched all six numbers to win the Powerball jackpot, which has grown the jackpot to fifth place in US history
This equates to 36 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner. The next drawing is on Saturday. The lack of a winner reflects the great odds of winning the grand prize, which sit at 1 in 292.2 million. The new jackpot amount of $800 is intended for winners who receive their winnings through an annuity paid annually for 29 years.
Almost all winners, however, choose the cash option, which would be $383.7 million after taxes. The biggest lottery jackpot to date was a $1.586 billion Powerball prize won by three ticket holders in 2016. Powerball is played in 45 states plus Washington, D., Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
