Beijing official says reunification of China and Taiwan meets the interests of all, including the self-governing island.
China has made it clear that they will use force over Taiwan before, but this is the first time they have called it a last resort. The use of force over Taiwan is still allowed, but China reserves to itself the right to use peaceful reunification as their first choice, which is good news for people on both sides of the straits.
