The first day of Supersport action at Donington ended with Dominique Aegerter topping the timesheet, as he was fastest in FP2 and closed the day's work as the benchmark in the category.
Fastest in FP1, Raffaele de Rosa picked up the morning pace and set the best time at the start of the second free practice, with Dominique Aegerter second (+0.062s) and Federico Caricasulo third (+0.278s).
As in the first session, Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Baldassarri were also among the fastest in the top five. With half an hour to go, Glenn Van Straalen had joined the pace-setters with a lap 0.370s slower than the provisional leader in fourth.
Aegerter, one of the category heavyweights, was top of the timesheets with 15 minutes to go. The Swiss was the first to set a lap in the second 30 (1:30.939) on his 16th lap.
The pace picked up in FP2 and with ten minutes to go so was the top five:
The top five changed as the clock ticked down, with Aegerter in the lead with a minute to go, followed by Nicolo Bulega. By the end of FP2, the Italian could not hold on to his position due to a good lap from Van Straalen, who was just over two-tenths of a second off Aegerter's best lap.
That was how the second free practice session for the Supersport World Championship ended at Donington:
