Amendments were made to the Law on Information, Information Technology and Information Protection and  other documents. Under the new law, such propaganda is now completely banned on social networks,  media, films and advertisements.

A separate provision prohibits the dissemination of such information to minors, while previously the prohibition only applied  to LGBT material. There are plans to set up a mechanism to deny minors access to LBGT-related information on paid websites. 

Special codes or other measures are required to access such websites. The country's Mass Media Inspectorate will be empowered to add websites promoting propaganda promoting non-traditional sexual relations, pedophilia and gender reassignment to the Register of Prohibited Resources, which are subject to blocking. authorized to set the Internet monitoring method to detect such websites.

The law also prohibits the sale of goods, including imported goods, containing information the dissemination of which gives rise to administrative or criminal liability. 

At the same time, another law signed by President Putin amends the  Administrative Offenses Act to introduce administrative liability for the propaganda of non-traditional material. sexual relations between people of all ages, not just children. 

According to Alexander Bashkin, a member of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation of the Russian Federation Council (upper house of parliament), such propaganda used to be banned only among minors, while the ban now applies to individuals. all ages. The law comes into force on the day of its publication.
