 Sergey Ryabkov points out what he describes as "curious statements by officials on several fronts Western media, including those  from the United States", who "suddenly 

 Russia does not intend to rush to respond to Finland's membership of NATO and it will publicly announce its countermeasures  in a calm  and timely manner," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Tuesday. Rossiya-24 TV channel  

 "We don't want to get ahead of ourselves here. Why should we?” he said. “We will calmly reveal what we will do in response when the time is right.

 Ryabkov points to what he describes as "curious statements by officials in several Western media, including those in the United States", who "suddenly decided because for some reason that there will be no response from the Russian side." 

 "They were deeply confused," insisted Ryabkov. "A reaction will follow."
